Looking for the Mysterious

part2

What drives us to solve any mystery?  Is it because we just have to know whats on the other side  Or perhaps its our insatiable curiosity. In any case, our human heart just has to find the answer! It doesn't really matter what kind of mystery we're talking about. Whether its a detective-story, a romantic-interlude with unknown hurdles or something more along the lines of the super-natural.
Human-nature prevails most of the time and we take that first step on the road to adventure

A particular mystery which has baffled the masses for decades is the one about the creature known as, Bigfoot or Sasquatch . Does it exist or is it only part of our imaginations? Why isn't there any real evidence, if this creature is real? There doesn't seem to be any hair samples, skin samples or even bone fragments on file in any lab to be examined. Or maybe there is, kept locked away deep inside
a hidden lab someplace. Who is to know?

The question of Bigfoot is one that causes serious reaction in the 'armchair-quarterback' community of those who troll the internet to find that next "convincing" video or discussion. Certainly the internet is not lacking in supposed video-evidence of this cryptid. Many videos of the silouhette of a huge, dark body lurking in the woods or that tree-shot of a large head seemingly "peeking" around one side of the tree to stare at the human strangers walking around its neighborhood. Granted, these videos could be of just about anything but with the high-tech camera equipment of today, much better and clearer images have been captured. Some are impossible to denounce as the clarity of picture or
video appears to show exactly what is reported..a Sasquatch!

Could it be that this entire mystery is only the result of mass-delusion on our part or perhaps, the trickery of Hollywood-type magic on a grand scale. It doesn't seem likely since this would take hundreds of workers and many hours of tedious editing skills to 'pull it off'. For this enigma to be a great hoax is also not likely! There is simply too many witnesses and too many personal experiences to discount it all!

Because of this, several determined and skilled researchers are embarking on their own investigations to find out the answers, if any, to one of the worlds most tantalizing unknowns. These researchers have dedicated themselves to exploring, documenting and finally gathering the evidence needed to answer the question of Bigfoot. For some its personal and for others its simply fascination.
Whatever their reasons, these researchers need our support and our encouragement to move forward in one of the most exciting and potentially dangerous expeditions in history!

A very good friend of mine is one of those researchers who intends to capture the undeniable footage and evidence of the Sasquatch and then document the experience for a future book. His name is Brenton Sawin and he is one who has a personal stake in solving this mystery! Brenton is a videographer with a college degree and his own channel on YouTube called, brentonsawin mysteries to search, which is one of the more popular channels on the social-media site. Brenton has many
followers and subscribers and he provides a very 'open' forum for those he interviews to tell their own experiences. His gentle approach to those he interviews has brought him much respect throughout the
YouTube community and among his friends!

As one who tries to be as much of a help as I can, it is an honor to know him and be counted as one of Brentons friends. I am the one who is fortunate in this case and I look forward with great anticipation to moving forward in this adventure and traveling this great nation to capture and bring back the very best evidence possible for the fans and skeptics alike. What will we find? Is this something we might end up regretting or could it be one of the most mind-blowing adventures that yields some amazing answers for all of us?  We may soon find out as the plans are for expeditions to begin this summer. The 'hunt' will then be on!

Will you join us in finding out about the Bigfoot? Will you have the courage to come along for the ride and advance into the unknown, wherever that leads? Only you can answer those questions. As for me, Brenton and others, the search continues but the real adventure is just now beginning!

Looking For The Mysterious

Things that are considered mysterious intrigue and fascinate many of us! The mysteries of life can add suspense, adventure and thrill to an otherwise dull day. For humans, investigating and solving a mystery brings a sense of accomplishment and it can boost our self-image. Some would say that the fascination with the world of mysteries is woven into our dna. The impulse to solve any mystery seems to be similar in its effect on us as winning at sports or recording an award-winning song!

The thrill of being able to rattle around a mystery from one end to the other, sift it for any loose ends and look at every possible scenario before finally solving it brings elation to us and a hunger for more! We are hooked! It doesn't get any better than that.

We know that life is full of 'unknowns'. The unexpected touches everyone of us in different ways and areas of our lives. How we deal with that unexpected happening is vital for us! It matters how we view the unforeseen circumstances that hit us when we are down or send us to our knees with a strong 'uppercut' to the heart! This aint kindergarten, folks. This is real life and it happens to any and all!

Even with those hard facts facing us, we still enjoy a good 'ole mystery to solve. For me, some of the biggest mysteries that I am intent on searching out and exploring have to do with the super-natural. The unseen, the 'wispy' figure just out of sight or the huge creature that lurks in the woods just over that hill. Ah, stuff of legends, you might say! Could be but what if that's not the case? What if there is long strands of truth within those so-called legends?

Some good friends and I are in the middle of searching, documenting and hopefully finding the answers to several of these unknown puzzles! Our intentions are to form an expedition-team and go straight into the heart of these mysteries, wherever that leads us. We have determination and courage and a desire to see just whats at the "end of the rainbow", as it were. To go into the belly of the beast is an adventure that we can not take lightly! This is serious business and I don't believe either of us is filled with a prideful attitude or arrogance at all. I think we are fully aware of what we are heading into and the possibility of what could be waiting for us, watching us even.

Anyone can find a good mystery book and dive into the story with excitement and wonder and that's often the spark for some who desire to go 'further'. To explore and to engage in the 'hunt', so to speak. Finding the answers to the more puzzling questions in our existence. Whats out there?

Just Thinkin, Again

Basketball has been a very big and constant part of my life for many, many years! It has helped to shape how I approach things and get work done. Remembering, not too clearly, sitting in front of the tv as a kid watching the beloved UK Wildcats play a game and the reaction of my parents to everything going in I was 'hooked' then and there! This was in the late 1960's and Uk had a very good team, as they often have, loaded with talented players such as, Larry Steele, Dan issel, Mike Pratt, Louie Dampier and Mike Casey. The thrill of getting involved in the game and questioning every call made by the refs felt very intoxicating! As a child, I certainly did not know what it felt like to be drunk but I have to say that being a life-long fan of these Uk Wildcats is the closest thing I can compare to that condition. It's intoxicating!

Certainly, our state does not have the monopoly on loving the game of basketball!  In many states in America, basketball is a "way of life" and has produced multiple players who have impacted the game for several decades! Throughout our country, basketball seems to be a year-round sport with just as much intensity as during the normal season of games, whether collegiate or professional. Heck, even in the back-yards and gravel-courts all over the land there are very often some rather intense contests as in any arena or stadium anywhere!

My love and passion for basketball only grew more rapidly as I got older and continued to follow those great and some not-so-great Uk teams of the last several decades. Neighborhood friends and family members often made up our local, street teams, and we spent many summer days and nights engaging in on-court 'wars' that taught us toughness and consistency. Without sounding brash or cocky, I would have to say that our teams won lots of those games and we even travelled throughout
the Lexington area of Kentucky challenging and beating several of the toughest opponents there were
then. What fun it was to bring home that excitement and pride (humbly, of course) back to our families and neighbors after the all the sweaty battles were done and we stood tall as the winners!

With all that being said, I wanted to talk about the subject that has been argued over and brought up over and over again through the years here in the bluegrass state. That subject is, bringing Professional basketball back to Kentucky once again. For those ho may not be aware of it, our state once had one of the better pro-teams of the 1970's in the ABA's Kentucky Colonels. That team was loved by many and caused quite a bit of excitement of their own after their inception to the league in the late 1960's!  Based in Louisville, Ky and decked-out in blue and white uniforms (for the most part) the Colonels were a 'natural' for this basketball-crazy area. The fast-paced and playground-type of entertainment the ABA brought was an instant favorite with fans and adding to that the very colorful and somewhat rogue red, white and blue ball, made for some intriguing dialog among the die-hard owners and commentators of the 'old man' NBA!

Even though it had a rather short life-span, the ABA, and the Colonels in particular, served up the brand of basketball that the masses were craving. Fun, intrigue, imagination and loads of talent! They had all it took to combat the boring and stone-faced NBA, it seemed. Everything except proper 'backing' and promotion. The ABA folded its tents and "gave up the ghost" in early 1976. Some teams were melded into the NBA while others, those beloved Colonels included, had their players put into a special dispersal-draft and the players were divided-up between each team. What a waste of talent, time and treasure for the league and its fans!

Presently, there has been a rather sizeable push for the adoption of n NBA team back to the city of Louisville to share the spectacular facilities of the University Of Louisville cardinals, the YUM Center downtown. Over the years this push has gained speed only to fizzle-out and be forgotten.
Despite the serious efforts of city officials and businessmen, there is so far no plan put in place to bring an NBA team here as of yet. No worries, though because even now the banner is being raised once more and the call is going out to the NBA suits that Kentucky is ready and wants an NBA team
to begin playing and bringing great talent to our area again!

As a fan, I am excited and somewhat engaged in the discussion of this possibility. My question would have to be, though, whether a small city like Louisville and even smaller neighboring city like Lexington would be able and willing to support a pro team here? The cost of seasonal-tickets and merchandise along with food and beverage costs would certainly test the wallets of the people.
It may not be a feasible endeavor but there is certainly no lack of enthusiasum among the fans!

Whatever the near future holds concerning professional basketball in Kentucky, some could say that it is already here in the form of John Calipari and his very successful Uk teams! For the tenure of his time as a coach of the Wildcats, Calipari seems to have found a successful recipe for winning as many games as possible, going deep into the tournements of March and mounting banner after banner aloft in the rafters of the great Rupp Arena!  He is a winner and so are the Kentucky Wildcats!

The fans of basketball in this state are winners as well! Their love, passion and loyalty to the game is quite a wonder to see and one that does not appear to fade as each generation comes along. Its a 'way of life' for many and , if I can say it, an almost 'religious experience' for others!

So whether an NBA team ever occupies the YUM Center or not, basketball will always be 'king' of sports in this state and the darling of many little boys and girls who first watched the game on tv and then went out into their drive ways and gravel-roads to fantasize about hitting that 'game-winner' and becoming the next basketball superstar for the ages!

A big thumbs-up to those who are trying to make it happen and to those who dream of watching "their team" rip up the NBA and raise the banner high for the bluegrass state once again!

Life Is Good

In child-like excitement we can enjoy our lives with just the same kind of passion and thrill as we did in childhood!  Who says we can't? Recalling my childhood I have so many great memories of playing outside for hours, pretending with my friends and going on endless adventures through our neighborhood. We did everything, nothing was off-limits. Well, almost nothing, anyway! There were gunfights (which I always won), hikes through the wilderness in some prickly-bushes along either street in our area. We rode our awesome bikes from one end of the neighborhood to the other and back again, for hours. We didn't have time to get bored! Too much to do and too much area to do it in.

As adults, we often find ourselves complaining about the mundane, daily chores we are required to do. That job we hate, the endless errands we have to run or sitting at the computer making out the monthly bills. Not fun, is it? What happened to that excitement and boundless energy we had as kids? Why cant we have the same fun as adults as we did during those young days? The fact is, we can!

There is no law that prevents any adult from having loads of fun and adventure today which can equal all that we ever did as children! You can wake up every day and make a decision. Choose to begin the day in an excited mood and set out to have some fun somewhere. Its just a daily choice. Its just that simple. We put limits and boundries on ourselves that do not have to be there. What happened to using phrases like,..live it up...go all out...shoot for the moon...or, lets do it? No where is it written that we are required, by law, to resist all urges or thoughts of anything 'fun'! It aint there, folks.

I am making this short and sweet on purpose! We each have been given something...today! Lets start the day by making the free choice to have as much fun as possible in as many areas of our life that we can. Now, we all know that bad things happen every day and none of us is immune to any of those tough times. Life happens no matter who you are, where you are or what you do to make a living. That does not mean you cant make something good out of a bad situation and turn it around.

I know this all sounds great and probably too "pie in the sky" kind of reasoning, but it rings true for each of us. We wake up evry day making choices. The key is to choose that today is going to be good no matter what because I am determined to have some fun (the clean kind) and I'm going to encourage, help and make others laugh if I can. God willing, its already starting out to be  an exciting, fun day!

Come on, people...lets do it and pull out all the stops. Have some boundless fun today and do it with all you got!  Woooooooooo!

Just thinkin

My mind has been occupied by some serious and rather unusual subjects today!  I receive many notifications from email newsletters during the week and a few of these report on supernatural events around the world. As I was reading through some of the accounts, I noticed a rapid upsurge in the reports of strange lights shooting across the skies in the U.S. and other countries. Eye witnesses  saw fireball-like, round objects blaze across the night sky with great speeds! The witnesses also saw some bright colors surrounding the objects. Green, yellow and blue were most common among them.

Whatever ones opinion on the subject, there is no denying the fact that the amount of sightings is increasing, not diminishing! Since the 1950's America alone has been fascinated by the possibility of visitors or invaders from another world coming here to do whatever they do to us. Its a concept that is boosted by tv shows and movies which have enabled us to use our great imagination's and go exploring through unlimited worlds for fun/ Certainly the prime candidate for this is Star Trek! Most
people would agree. If not for Star Trek, my favorite show of all time by the way, then there would most likely be an immense hole in the fabric of our society!

I make no claims to know what it is that witnesses are seeing on a daily basis, but I do have my own conclusions on the subject and one that has formed over many years and countless researching of reports. I will say this, that the people involved in the majority of these encounters are left with emotional and physical scars which are reminders to them that something very strange was encountered in their life and, for them, it was very, very real!

Maybe this mystery will be answered soon, who knows but for now the fact that UFO reports are
certainly on the increase and do not appear to be going away any time soon! We don't need to look for a quick-fix on this but we also should not allow ourselves to think it will just go away. I am
convinced that there is much more to come on this matter.

The other matter I have spent some time considering today is the movie, The Matrix. Many of you are familiar with this film, after all it is a cult-classic from the 1990's, and know what the movie is about. Thinking about that and realizing the impact that particular film has made on our society here in America helps me to realize that we as a people are highly influenced by what we see and hear on a daily basis. This is not a revelation, of course, just my own musing on the effect the movie has on us all.

Whether we know it or not, The Matrix is an idea. An idea by those who look beyone the norm and have seen into what could be. Sounds rather esoteric, doesn't it? All we have to do is look at our way of living and how we go about thr routines of each week and we will realize that what appears to be 'normal' may actually be quite different. Maybe even a little weird!  We are trained from childhood to conform to one order or another! We are made to form straight lines, to walk in a certain way, to suppress our own will's and to be just like the other's in the class! Taught to conform to the routine, to the Matrix.

Maybe it is 'just a movie' after all but then again, movies are nade to effect us. Our emotions, our thought-process and our mannerisms come from what we have seen and heard in a particular film or film's, plural. We cant afford to brush aside the effects of what we are taught from the entertainment world. Humans love to be entertained. We crave it, in fact! Aside from working a job, most human beings plunge themselves into hours and hours of mindless-entertainment and allow ourselves to journey to a fantasy existence. Or is it fantasy?

The Matrix brought in millions of dollars from it's inception back in the late 90's and has really made it's "mark" on everything we do! No doubt causing many of us to wish for that fantasy-world over the one we currently abide in. Imagination is needed for each of us and it is a unique gift given to us by an Almighty Creator so it benefits all of us to use it and explore the endless paths it can take us on!  We are all about having fun, right?

As I conclude this post, I am left with a consuming question...what if our 'normal' way of doing things is actually not so normal? What if we all are actually living within an imaginary world, a true fantasy?  Perhaps I am letting my own imagination get away from me. It does not conform to the rules, after all. The real fun and wonderment comes from pretending any way.  Right?

   Let the fun become real.
